Elana Gordon

Elana Gordon is a dedicated and passionate educator of 24 years. She is a K-6 reading interventionist at Warren Park Elementary School in Cicero, Illinois. She holds a BA in elementary education, an MA in curriculum and instruction with a reading and middle school endorsement, and a literacy coaching certificate. Elana is certified in LETRS (Language Essentials for the Teachers of Reading and Spelling), which is endorsed by the International Dyslexia Association (IDA). She is an ambassador for the Illinois Chapter of The Reading League and a member of the Illinois Early Literacy Coalition, which is a group that advocates for every child learning to read through evidence-based instruction. Elana is the creator of an in-house podcast in her school district called The Road to Reading. The podcast focuses on how teachers are aligning instruction to SoR practices and sharing teacher shifts in instructional practice. When she is not teaching, Elana loves writing blogs, hanging out with her two children, and spending time outdoors.
