Brittany Fitsik is a 5th Grade teacher at Milton Terrace Elementary School, in the Ballston Spa Central School District located in Ballston Spa, New York.  She is starting her twelfth year of teaching this Fall. Throughout Brittany’s career, she has taught third, fourth and fifth grade. Brittany graduated from St. John Fisher College in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Childhood and Special Education and acquired her Master’s Degree in Literacy from The College of St. Rose in 2012. Brittany has always had a particular passion for literacy. Since being introduced to high quality literacy curriculum four years ago, Brittany has seen firsthand the impact this has had on her students. The excitement her students have for reading and the engagement she has seen with the texts has led to immense reading growth among her students. When Brittany is not in the classroom, she brings her love of reading home with her, and as an avid reader has an impressively large personal library that continues to grow! She also enjoys spending time with her family, shopping for classroom decorations, skiing during the winter and spending time by the lake and pool in the summer!
