Jessica Whiteley

Jessica Whiteley is a first-grade teacher on Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. She holds an M.Ed. in Reading from Lesley University and an M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from the American College of Education. Jessica is a certified Reading Specialist and is certified in Orton-Gillingham through the Hamilton County Educational Service Center’s structured literacy training program. She is passionate about bridging literacy research and classroom practice and creating engaging learning environments where all students can succeed. Jessica is particularly interested in the science of reading and the science of learning and, most recently, has begun exploring linguistic phonics through EBLI training. She believes that effective, research-informed instruction has the potential to transform reading outcomes for young learners. When she is not teaching, Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband, her ten-year-old twins, and their Labradoodle, Riley.
