Katie Hatlestad
Katie Hatlestad is a reading specialist at Owen-Withee School District in central Wisconsin. She spent over 20 years in the classroom as a 1st grade and 3rd grade teacher before moving to her current role. She is passionate about getting literacy right for all students and is committed to researching and implementing evidence-based practices across her district. Her job is the perfect blend of student intervention, teacher development, data analysis, and curriculum implementation. Katie received her B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout to earn her M.S. in Education, Reading Teacher certification, and Reading Specialist certification. She is also a National Board Certified Teacher (Early Childhood Generalist). In her free time, you’ll find Katie at her local 9-hole golf course, attending one of her four children’s sporting events, or exploring state park campgrounds with her husband.
