Katie Scotti is a fourth grade ELA teacher in Baltimore City Public Schools, where she has been teaching for 17 years. She graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a Bachelor's Degree in elementary and special education and obtained her Master's Degree from the University at Buffalo Graduate School of Education. Katie is passionate about using knowledge building in her instruction and has seen its impact on engagement and student growth in her classroom. In addition to teaching, Katie also supports other teachers through professional developments on knowledge building and the use of high-quality curriculum materials. Katie has been a semi-finalist for Baltimore City Public Schools Teacher of the Year as well as Mentor of the Year. When she is not teaching, Katie enjoys traveling with her family and spending time outdoors.
