Laura teaches 2nd grade and vocal music at Tilden School, an independent school in Seattle. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Arts in Teaching, Elementary Education. Laura has become a fervent student of the science of learning, always seeking to structure her practice around evidence-based techniques. To that end, she follows numerous podcasts and blogs, eager to learn from other educators and researchers. Laura is also passionate about teaching with an emphasis on equity, inclusion, and social justice. She lives in West Seattle with her husband and three adult sons, one of whom is in school to become a teacher himself. In addition to her love of teaching, she is passionate about music, history, and family.Sandra Jenoski is a first grade teacher at Hildreth Elementary School in Harvard, Massachusetts, with over 25 years of experience dedicated to supporting young learners and their literacy development. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Master’s Degree in Literacy and Language, and a Reading Specialist License (K–12). Throughout her career, Sandra has been committed to understanding how children learn to read and write and to implementing research-supported, evidence-based literacy practices that provide all students with access to effective instruction that they need to become confident, successful readers and writers. She is trained in Releasing Writers (formerly thinkSRSD), a set of research-supported writing practices aligned with the science of writing. She is committed to exploring effective ways to teach writing while supporting the development of students’ self-regulation and executive functioning skills. Outside of the classroom, Sandra enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, Ryan (21) and Ben (19).
