Sara Quinn

Sara Quinn, M. Ed., is a literacy specialist, mama and teacher researcher who supports striving middle school readers at Westside Atlanta Charter School. She develops student-centered evidence-based structured literacy practices that foster curiosity, build lasting background knowledge, and provide students with the foundational skills they need to become capable, critically conscious readers. This is her 15th year of experience in diverse settings as a teacher, interventionist, instructional coach, trainer, Orton-Gillingham practitioner and curriculum designer. She received her bachelor's degree in American Studies from Wesleyan University and her master’s in Learning and Design from Vanderbilt University, where her capstone project focused on critical literacy in the reading intervention setting. She authored the phonics and writing courses for the Cox Campus platform, used to train teachers across the country in the Science of Reading. In her life outside of school she loves connecting with nature, dancing, making art and eating good food with her wife and their toddler.
