Myrtle Goyen established The Goyen Foundation (formerly the Harry and Myrtle Goyen Charitable Foundation, Inc.) in 1995 to support Christian activities, children's education, and individuals in need of charitable assistance. The Foundation emphasizes support for small, focused works where grants will provide a direct, clear, and demonstrable impact.

Past grants have supported projects as large as the construction of a new school building and as small as a financial gift to an individual during a time of personal crisis. All grant requests are evaluated against the Foundation’s mission and vision.

The mission of the Foundation is to promote the Gospel by directly serving the needs of individuals and by supporting organizations that serve individuals in need.

The Foundation's directors have broad discretion in using the Foundation's resources to achieve these objectives because they believe that nurturing Christian community and promoting the Gospel mean helping those in need no matter their religion. Therefore, the Foundation supports a variety of individuals and organizations, not just Christian ones. The directors make all decisions unanimously.

The Goyen Foundation recently launched a three-year program to support students with learning differences who don't have the financial resources, support, or information to get the help and interventions they need to thrive. Given the scope of this project, the Foundation is not currently accepting grant requests. If you have a relationship with one of the Foundation directors, you're welcome to reach out to them for more information.
